Youth Forum Nov 7 – 10, 2018

The “To Hear and Be Heard” 2018 CHHA Youth Forum took place in Ottawa, Ontario from November 7-10, 2018. The Forum brought together over 65 hard of hearing youth from all regions of Canada. Over the course of four days and three nights, the youth shared experiences, cultures and learned to be leaders of change. The youth participated in educational workshops on a variety of topics including the arts, self-advocacy, mental health, human rights and many more. Through meeting and interacting with guest speakers, other participants and staff, participants left feeling empowered to promote change in their respective communities. The participants’ tours of the Centre Block of Parliament and the Canadian Museum of History enriched their knowledge on Canada’s rich history and current practices.
