CHHA Scholarship Winner

This year the CHHA Scholarship was awarded to Jessica Dunkley attending the University of Ottawa, in Ottawa Ontario. Jessica is entering her second year of a four-year Doctorate of Medicine Degree. Jessica was diagnosed with hearing loss at the age of 2 1/2. She currently wears one hearing aid and has a sensor-neural bilateral hearing loss. We wish Jessica the best of luck in her future endeavours and look forward to the day we can call her Dr. Dunkley.

Frank Algar Memorial Scholarship Winner

The Frank Algar Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Lauren Sherwood of Osoyoos, British Columbia was the recipient of this prestigious award. Ms. Sherwood is registered as a full time student in the Bachelor of Arts programm at Mount Allison University in Sackville New Brunswick. Lauren has a congenital hearing loss and wears two hearing aids. She has been an active member of the CHHA BC parents Branch by contributing to their newsletter. She is a member of many hearing loss organizations and plans to continue her advocacy for hearing loss during her academic year.
