Message du Directeur Exécutif

From the Desk of Christopher Sutton
National Executive Director
Canadian Hard of Hearing Association

Welcome to this issue of I Listen. In this edition you will learn more about work we have been doing on your behalf to ensure that all people living with hearing loss live in a barrier free society.

Last week, we announced at Mitch Joel as the keynote speaker at our upcoming 2019 CHHA Educational Conference and Trade Show. Mitch speaks frequently to diverse groups like Wal-Mart, Starbucks, Microsoft, Procter and Gamble, Twitter, Unilever and every organization and association in between. We are excited to have Mitch join us in Montreal! Early bird rates for the conference close this Friday, April 5, 2019, register today!

As most of you are aware, Bill C-81: An Accessible Canada Act was introduced into Parliament in June and we continue to work closely with our partners in the disability community to ensure this legislation is passed before the next federal election. Today, I am asking for your help, and to contact your Members of Parliament and Senate encouraging them to make sure we have a strong and effective Accessible Canada Act.

I am also very excited to share, after 25 years on Holly Lane, we have officially moved our office to downtown Ottawa. Our new location is in a fully accessible building just steps away from Parliament and Senate Buildings. This move uniquely positions us as the nation’s voice for all Canadian living with hearing loss. We welcome your visit on your next trip to the National Capital Area.

These are just a few things we are doing on your behalf; I hope you enjoy all the information we have to share in this issue and look forward to welcoming you to Montreal in May!

Regards,

Christopher T. Sutton
National Executive Director
