In 2004 Colin Cantlie, as outgoing President of the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association, approached the CHHA National Office with the creation of a new award. This award is to be presented to a Chapter, Branch, a member, individual, or an Association that has worked diligently in the past to further the mandate of the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association. This is to be a unique award as it is not mandatory that the recipient be hard of hearing or even a member of CHHA. This particular recipient could be an external Association or Group that has endeavoured to promote community accessibility for persons with hearing loss.
Nominations must include a pertinent biological sketch, of no more than 500 words, of the nominee and a complete description of the nominee’s activity to be awarded.
