CALL FOR NOMINATIONS – NATIONAL BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Canadian Hard of Hearing Association (CHHA) is the leading consumer advocacy organization representing the needs of the nearly 4-million Canadians impacted by hearing loss. With a network from coast-to-coast-to coast, CHHA works cooperatively with professionals, service providers, government and others to provide life enhancing information, support and advocacy. At this time, CHHA is inviting applications/nominations for its National Board of Directors.
Established in 1982, CHHA has a global reputation in developing and delivering a wide range of initiatives that have challenged the status quo when working with people with hearing loss. As a leader in the sector we are sought after to provide comments and feedback on various policy initiatives, identify best practices, develop and test technology, programs and services, which in return has advanced the quality of life for people living with hearing loss. CHHA is going through a very exciting transformation and redefining itself today for the future.
CHHA is governed by a progressive policy oriented National Board of Directors, who are dynamic, strategic thinkers and doers with an open and continuous improvement mindset, as well as passionate ambassadors for CHHA. Collaborating with the National Executive Director, the National Board of Directors sets the strategy and long-term mission, vision, and direction for the organization. Comprised exclusively of volunteers, CHHA board members come from across Canada and bring a wide variety of skill sets and business and community leadership experiences from the private, public and non-profit sectors.
With demonstrated sensitivity to working in a culturally diverse environment, board members ideally bring knowledge of issues related to hearing loss, with the majority of the board comprising of people who live with hearing loss and/or have a child with hearing loss.
If you are a collaborative, engaging and inspirational business or community leader, with vision and prior board and governance experience combined with a desire to meaningfully connect with and support the community that CHHA proudly serves, this opportunity may be just the right one for you.
The Call for Nominations is now CLOSED.
