Michelle Saunders is a Toronto-based lobbyist who is also mom to her amazing son, who is hard of hearing.
Through the Canadian Advocacy Network she offers pro bono consulting advice to numerous organizations, especially in the disability community, and has previously served on the Boards of Canadian Hearing Society, Ontario Hands and Voices, and has volunteered with Silent Voice. She speaks annually to Audiology and Speech Language Pathology students at the University of Toronto about working with hard of hearing children and their parents. Michelle has also served on various provincial accessibility advisory committees, appointed by the Ontario Government.
Professionally, Michelle has more than 15 years offering strategic government relations guidance to the business community, and on-the ground advocacy at all levels of government. Michelle brings with her a unique perspective on advocacy which builds on her background in politics, having started her career at Queen’s Park, in the offices of a number of Cabinet Ministers and the office of the Premier.
