About the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association (CHHA)

HISTORY

Established in 1982 as the national voice of Canadians living with a hearing loss.

VISION

The Canadian Hard of Hearing Association’s vision is a society that is respectful and fully accessible to people with hearing loss.

GOVERNANCE

The CHHA Board of Directors represents 2,000 members in six provincial chapters, 23 branches and one national Young Adult Network.

Mission

Empower all Canadians living with hearing loss through our four pillars of activity:

EDUCATION

Assisting Canadians living with hearing loss to communicate successfully and overcome communication barriers.

PUBLIC AWARENESS

Increasing the understanding of hearing and hearing loss issues.

SERVICE

Helping Canadians living with hearing loss to use effective communications strategies.

ADVOCACY

Acting as the voice in the public and private sectors of Canadians living with hearing loss.
