CHHA/CHHA Foundation Scholarship Winner
CHHA/CHHAF Foundation Scholarship 2012 was awarded to Shoshana Erlich of Toronto, ON. Shoshana is very proud of her work with educators and community service providers, on how their services can be made accessible for those with hearing impairment. She attends Ryerson University in the Child and Youth Care program.
Frank Algar Memorial Scholarship Winner
The Frank Algar Memorial Scholarship was created in 2004 by the Algar Family in memory of Frank Algar who was one of the founding members of CHHA and provided dedication and outstanding service for many years to the work of the association. The 2012 Scholarship was awarded to Deborah Ann Scott, of Salt Spring Island, BC. She now studies Human and Organizational Development at Fielding Graduate University, and is in the process of completing her doctoral degree.
Dr. Charles A. Laszlo Scholarship Winner
The Dr. Charles A. Laszlo Scholarship created in 2007 by Dr. Doreen Laszlo to honour the commitment and work of her husband on behalf of hard of hearing people. The 2012 Scholarship went to Elissa Robb of Vancouver, BC. She has worked very hard in her studies, and contributed to the University of British Columbia’s Accessibility Service Learning Project.
