The conference committee has been working hard to provide you with numerous tours opportunities for Sunday, May 24, 2009. Below you will see one tour which will need to be pre-booked.
Why is Woody Island Resort different? It is different because it offers so many exciting attractions all at one destination. Situated on Woody Island in Placentia Bay, this quiet outport community, which once boasted a population of 400, is one of hundreds of fishing villages from which people were relocated under the government resettlement program. Today it is home to mainly summer visitors. Woody Island Resort offers spectacular scenery, comfortable accommodations, excellent service, traditional Newfoundland meals, live entertainment, and a wide variety of activities. For more information, please visit their website: www.woodyi.com
Overnight Package includes boat trip, accommodations and food, 1.5 hour scenic bus trip to the boat, tour and picture taking at an antique car museum at Vernon's Toy Shop. Please note that the tour will depart from the hotel at 8am on Sunday morning (May 24) and return at 5 pm on Monday (May 25).
